The unique setup of RaPaed-AIDA-TB allows the evaluation of multiple new test candidates and testing approaches:

Testing Strategies

  • Pathogen detection
      ·  Evaluation of the Xpert MTBRIF Ultra® cartridges on different specimen types
      ·  Lipoarabinomannan (LAM) detection in different specimen

  • Host immune response
     ·  Assessment of the T cell specific immune response:
      “T cell activation marker TB"

  • Host biomarker signatures
     ·  Protein based
     ·  RNA signatures

Furthermore, the project will contribute significantly to the establishment of a biorepository to facilitate future new test evaluation on stored paediatric samples.
